Finally - a review that i can agree with about "Spider Lilies". Much touted as a 'lesbian' film - it drew a lot of negative criticisms and attacks, in particular, i remember one from this mother who said that the show is promoting lesbianism.

"Too many loose strands that don't pay off your efforts in tying them up.....
...But, to Chou's (the director) credit, she does make a point about how we build illusions around ourselves as a defense mechanism against pain.
In this sense, Spider Lilies isn't a lesbian-themed movie per se - it's a story about finding and losing connection which just happened to feature gay characters."
