What the new job lingo REALLY means...

"Join our fast-paced company": We have no time to train you.
"Casual work atmosphere": We don't pay enough to expect that you'll dress up.
"Must be deadline-oriented": You'll be six months behind schedule on your first day.
"Some overtime required": Some time each night and some time each weekend.
"Duties will vary": Anyone in the office can boss you around.
"Must have an eye for detail": We have no quality control.

Guy's point of view

This is very cute! And even written by a guy! You might agree with it, but when it actually happens 99% of girls don't realize it 'til it is too late and that guy who did it is so frustrated that he has moved on to someone who will take notice. (Thank you, Fana dear, for the mail!!)

From a guys point of view:

We don't care if you talk to other guys.
We don't care if you're friends with other guys.

But when you're sitting next to us, and some random guy walks into the room and you jump up and tackle him without even introducing us, yeah, it pisses us off.
It doesn't help if you sit there and talk to him for ten minutes without even acknowledging the fact that we're still there.

We don't care if a guy calls you, but at 2 in the morning we do get a little concerned.
Nothing is that important at 2 a.m. that it can't wait till the morning.

Also, when we tell you you're pretty/ beautiful/ gorgeous/ cute/ stunning, we freaking mean it.
Don't tell us we're wrong. We'll stop trying to convince you.
The sexiest thing about a girl is confidence. Yeah, you can quote me.

Don't be mad when we hold the door open.
Take Advantage of the mood i'm in. LET US PAY FOR YOU! DON'T 'FEEL BAD'
We enjoy doing it. It's expected. Smile and say 'thank you.'

Kiss us when no one's watching.
If you kiss us when you know somebody's looking, we'll be more impressed.

You don't have to get dressed up for us. If we're going out with you in the first place, you don't have to feel the need to wear the shortest skirt you have or put on every kind of makeup you own. We like you for WHO you are and not WHAT you are.
Honestly, i think a girl looks more beautiful when she's just in her pj's.
Or my t-shirt and boxers, not all dolled up.

Don't take everything we say seriously. Sarcasm is a beautiful thing. See the beauty in it. Don't get angry easily. (blogger's note: i dun agree w this totally.. haha.. See my prev post..)

Stop using magazines/media as your bible.
Don't talk about how hott Morris Chesnutt, Brad Pitt, or Jesse McCartney is in front of us.
It's boring, and we don't care. You have girlfriends for that.

Whatever happened to the word 'handsome'/'beautiful'.
I'd be utterly stunned by a girl who greeted me with 'Hey handsome!' instead of 'Hey baby/ stud/ cutie/ sexy' or whatever else you can think of.
On the other hand im not sayin i wouldn't like it either.

Girls: I cannot stress this enough: IF YOU AREN'T BEING TREATED RIGHT BY A GUY, DON'T WAIT FOR HIM TO CHANGE.> DITCH HIS SORRY DISGRACE-TO-THE-MALE-POPULATION ASS, AND FIND SOMEONE WHO WILL TREAT YOU WITH UTTER RESPECT
Someone who will honor your morals.
Someone who will make you smile when you're at your lowest.
Someone who will care for you even when you make mistakes.
Someone who will love you, no matter how bad you make them feel.
Someone who will stop what theyre doing just to look you in the eyes....and say 'i love you' ..........AND ACTUALLY MEAN IT!

*****Give the nice guys a chance*****

> Holdin Hands-
Girls : If you want to hold his hand, gently bump into it a couple of times.
Guys : Grab it if it happens more than once.

> Cuddling-
Girls : When you want to cuddle with him, tell him you're cold.
Guys : Automatically move closer to her.

> Movies-
Girls : During a movie, if he puts his arm around you, tilt your head on his shoulder
Guys : Lift her chin up and kiss her.

> Loving each other-
Guys : When she tells you she loves you, look deep into her eyes, give her a peck on the lips, and tell her you love her too... And mean it.

> Laying below the stars-
Girls : When you're both laying under the stars, put your head on his chest and close your eyes as you listen to his steady heart beat
Guys : Whisper in her ear and link your hands with hers. Now make a wish about something you would like to happen Between you and your crush....

> guys: no grabbing!!!

Guys repost this if you agree.

Girls repost this if you think it's cute.

Every Guy who isn't a jerk will agree with this, so we hope that all the girls that read this will repost this.

random rants..

As a rule, i have nothing against slouchy sweaters, shorts or even green and white checkered heels. But putting all these together, and standing in that ultra-unglam; almost-uncouth; "see-how-cool-i-look" way.... No way.
Bleah!!!

Jobseekers be warned!!! The Cobra Group

OMG, i can't believe it. I was looking through the jobcentral site earlier, and i saw this position claiming "Sales (Leadership) Management Position" and i took a deeper look at it. When i went to the Dirad site (www.dirad.com.sg), it was a direct link to another company - (www.appcogroup.com)

That is very very weird, and i googled the company "Dirad Pte Ltd". And this is wat came out...
Job Seekers: Steer clear of the Cobra!

If you are a job seeker, and have been actively searching the net for jobs, you should have noticed a group of recruitment advertisements claiming outrageous remunerations and prospects. These companies are dodgy about who they are, what they do, or their expectations of the suitable candidate. They normally advertise as looking for “management trainees” or anything similar in that line, and utilises a “catch-all” prerequisite for the jobs. In other words, they are looking for anyone from a secondary school graduate, and all the way up to a university graduate to fill in the job.

They also offer a comprehensive on-the-job-training programme; therefore no experience on the part of the candidate is required. The salary starts from S$1800 and all the way to S$2500 during the “training period”, which spans between “6 to 8 months”. After which an increment to the S$3500 to S$5000 range is promised. Furthermore, you will also reach a point where you may get promoted to be part of the management – a managing director post, even!

Sounds too good to be true? Well, it is! The recruitment strategy briefly outlined above will be a familiar sight to all jobseekers on the web. In fact, it may seem that there are plenty of organisations out there offering similar opportunities in their various recruitment drives. To the untrained eye, these companies seems innocent enough, and each bears a different company name and even projects the impression of coming from independent business entities.

For example, by searching through the net today, I’ve managed to locate the following companies that are currently active in their recruitment: Nevaeh Pte Ltd, VisionX International Pte Ltd, and Appco (Singapore) Pte Ltd. These are just a few I’ve managed to dig up on at the moment. There should be more, so beware of others! All of them share familiar recruitment tactics.

Are they really different companies sharing similar recruitment strategies? Well, they are “independent” companies, and they may be managed by different individuals, but they do share on thing in common; they are all part of the Cobra Group PLC.

Enter the Cobra...

The Cobra Group PLC is a self-professed UK-based MNC, but the truth is far below. Cobra Group reportedly started in Manly, Australia. Apparently, they have grown so fast that they now have offices in over 20 countries and are rapidly expanding (statistics proved otherwise in Australia alone!). In truth, they are just a hybrid organisation offering services under the brand name “Human Commercials”.

Human Commercials is just another Cobra Group marketing ploy that simply means “direct marketing”. Cobra Group also shares striking resemblance to organisations such as DS-MAX, AMWAY, and many other MLM driven companies, both in their organisation structure, and sales tactics.

If that doesn’t sound an alarm yet, then find out more about what the Cobra Group does at the following resources:

Official Website of the Cobra Group:

Websites of Cobra Group affiliated companies in Singapore:

(I’ve listed only one local website, as most affiliates does not "yet" have an internet presence (hiding their true identities perhaps?), and only advertise on job sites about their openings without any contact information listed. However, if you dig deeper, you may find that all of them share the same office address; 9B Mosque
Street.)

VisionX International Pte Ltd:http://www.vxinternational.com/main1.html

I was so nearly taken in by how professionally they made everything sound, and the high pay quoted; when in fact you become a door to door salesman literally, with a damn low basic. What a scam!!
As i read through the comments on the post, it struck me that the address "9B Mosque Street" is very very familar... Sense of forbidding.. Damn!! They have yet more names.. I had sent a resume to Asia Pacific Promotion Group which is same!!! Good heavens... I am so not gonna go for any interviews!!!

A second link to the article..
It appears that the sister-companies are in action again, looking for gullible fresh-grads to devour. A few new companies that surfaced includes:
TML & Associates (Agency Development Officer)
Asia Pacific Promotion Group Pte Ltd (Regional Management Trainee)
JYPartnership (Marketing Development Executive/Management)
EA & Associates (Sales Associates / Recruitment Executive)
There are more...be smart, and know the game!

Know this.

After three years of trying to convince you your job does not suit you - you listen to a new acquaintance when he tells you that this job affects one's social life.

After three years of our words falling on deaf ears - you finally choose to leave your job.

Did I tell you in that bloody exasperated superior tone "Now then you know ar!"

Finding a job or not - that is my choice.

If you value this friendship. Don't be sarcastic with me.

I have no tolerance for that. This should be something you know by know.

Unless you have never known me.

Be thankful.

When people are good to you, treat you as a friend - it's because they want to. They don't owe you anything.
Don't abuse that. Don't assume that I can accept everything that you do and say.
Don't come running round only when you need a listening ear to your complaints, a sympathetic shoulder for your tears. Don't come running here for advice when you have defences, "i already"s and "buts" for every solution we come up with.
I care for you as my friend, but i am sick and tired of all this.
With rodents gnawing at it all the time, even the thickest rope will break one day.
