Finally went to the Daily Scoop at Clementi Arcade! They've got this lovely freshly made ice cream that is "WOW!"

Known of it for ages, but didn't get around to going there.. =p And i think i will go again soon.. hehe..

I've got the (from top-left) avocado ice-cream, peanut butter & the specialty - Lychee Martini!!

Each and every single one of them taste wonderful, and all are special.. hee...

Had lunch with a group of colleagues at the Pasta Brava - supposedly quite a famous restaurant.. Just look at all those plaques on the wall! There were more, but i couldn't capture it on my limited hp camera.. haha..

Went to Pasta de Waraku some time when we were craving for Pasta. I chose a seafood pasta while dar took his usual bolognaise, and it was really nice.... till i found a clump of stuff on the bottom of a mussel.


OMG, i was totally horrified - cos the clump of black stringy stuff looks really gross with the pinkish creamy sauce.

The manager was horrified too, when i showed him the plate - and took the whole plate immediately to check it out. Well, it seems that it is seaweed, just that the chef did not check that the stuff is on the back of the shell. Wah.. scared me half to death lo.. @_@

He apologised really profusely, and very sincerely. A little paiseh, to be honest, but i guess at the same time, i am gratified that he really cares.

i didn't want a new plate of pasta cos i was really full, and we later received icecream.. =)

Whee!! a simple softie, but i think it really shows their sincerity! =D

What's more, we got a discount when we were paying the bill; and even got vouchers for our next visit!

As Mark puts it: the service recovery is really excellent!!

Catching up with the important people in my life, stood by me when i was at my most 'leong' period in life, never minded a light bulb when we went out.. =) Presenting - my gan ge ge and future sis-in-law - =D

Went for a vegetarian meal the other day at this cafe near Aljunied MRT - Yes Natural.
I love my avocado oat milkshake! I love avocado milkshake, and this version with oat is just as nice! Started drinking it a year ago, and have never looked back. Benefits of avocado are aplenty! haha.. just try google-ing it, and there is even a site dedicated to it..

Lijun ordered the Fu Rong Tofu to share, but it was too nice, we ate it all!! haha, didn't have time to take photos of it..

This is an all vege sushi roll - very nice and crunchy, with a little peanut paste, giving it additional fragrance & sweetness.. MUST try!

For our mains, Kor ordered the pineapple rice, while Lijun ordered the hot and sour noodle soup. For me, always sinful, haha.. i ordered the cheese baked spaghetti - the spaghetti is not overcooked, tasty, and the vegs are well done. A very pleasant surprise... =D

Went for dinner with my darling, to try the Romanian cuisine. it's at the KPT kopitiam behind the Alexander AIA office. The pasta was recommended by one of his colleagues, and we also tried the romanian food which is operated by the same pple.
This is the 'homemade pork sausages' - very nice!

Went again the other day, and i had the carbonara while dar tried this seafood spaghetti or something.. And Ta-Da~!!

we got a "fish"!! haha... Spied another customer who got the pasta wrapped up in the shape of a peacock! ^^

Next was a good yummy dinner @ Two Chefs in Commonwealth with the whole family

The food is good, and the price is reasonable - imagine, 7 of us went to eat, and the bill only came up to just over $100... =P


Went to my Sis's place to play Puerto Rico after dinner. We are all rather into this game at the moment. It is a really engaging game.. You not only need to have a good strategy, you need to be able to adjust accordingly to other players' actions.. =D

Birthday a-coming~! ^^

The birthday 'week' started off with The Cake - The Mille Crepes.

Classic Cakes in Clementi Arcade, started selling a wonderful cake called Mille Crepes last year - a stack of 20 crepes placed on top of one another, with a vanilla pastry cream holding them together and a caramelised topping.

But for those who want something more exciting, baker Charles Quek has come up
with three variations.

The Chocolate Mille Crepes has thin, floaty flakes of dark chocolate between the crepes. It is ethereal, light and to die for.

Order the Apple Mille Crepes if you don’t like your desserts too rich. The tart
apples add crunch - very refreshing.

Of course, there is a durian version, with pungent, creamy durian filling in
between the pancakes. Like the original, they all cut beautifully.

It cost us $60 for a 1.5kg cake, but between me & my sis, we figured 2 persons' b'day mah - can la can la.... haha...

It's really yummy -may be a little "jelat" for those who don't really fancy vanilla.. =P Smooth and solid at the same time.. Hee..

My family has become a supporter of Classic Cakes, with my brother-in-law loving the Black Forest Cake,

and we getting the Best Ever Chocolate Cake for my elder sis's b'day... =D

YumMy~!!

Yummy yummy dinner again ytd night! Very happy too, to be out w ma pretty lady here.. hee.. Went to this place near Kembangan mrt - Hmmm.. at Jalan Masjid or something like that, can't quite remember. Anyway they are really famous for their mian xian aka mee sua aka 面线。

It's like a zhi char place, and Mark & I really like the steamed fish there. It's fresh, and fresh and fresh... haha. nothing else needs to be said.. But no photos of it, cos we were too engrossed in our meal by then, and only thought of eating it.. haha... Oh, and another interesting thing is that you have to go to the stall to order (just like a zhi char) and you see the the prices written on cards, placed on the fish. So you know how much you are paying for what fish. Very straightforward, very good.

Another dish that dar likes, the fried tofu with chicken floss.. very nice!!! We order this everytime we go.. haha..

Cam-whoring while the guys are gossiping away.. Oh yesh, guys do gossip! hehehe...

Winding down...

Dinner w my ladies to bitch about work and wind down over dinner & tea... Tried this new tea @ TCC - some 'Oriental' or 'Dragon Mystique' (sssooomething like that la~ forgot liao) - name really caught my attention. But a bit disappointing cos though the fragrance is really nice, there is not much taste to the tea though i left it to steep for quite some time..

Well, the saving grace as always, is the service and atmosphere @ TCC.. hehe....

Dinner @ Sakuraya
Went for a drive with Mark one day after work, and walked randomly into this Japanese restaurant near the Pasir Panjang area. I know this chain has one outlet @ Parkway too, so it's good to check it out.

The sashimi is really interesting - you just walk to this big showcase/ fridge, and choose what you want and amount to pay is labelled clearly! Very interesting..

Luv the california maki here! They are very very generous with the roe. The ingredients are fresh, and each can be tasted clearly! very filling... =)

But my all time fav is the teriyaki grilled cod! Ahhhh... Grilled cod (Japanese style) is like my favourite now!! It's sweet, yet with the smoky taste of grill - and the cod is so so smooth that it seems to melt in the mouth....... Yumz.....

Definitely wanna go back there again!!

Went to Marche for a good relaxing dinner the other day with dar.. Love the atmosphere there!!! ^^

And speaking of Marche, how can we forget our favourite at Marche - the rosti with sausage! hehe.. Utterly sinful, but so yummy, especially w the sour cream... Ahhh...

And oh! this item which we finally tried- the Marche Crepes! One big crepe cooked to perfection, spread with marscapone cheese inside, topped with a huge scoop of sinfully rich ice cream & fresh strawberries that are sweet! Heavenly!!!!

Lunches

Porridge buffet @ Suntec with the ladies... Supposedly healthier - but..... with everyone taking dishes, we still ended up taking so much food! haha.. still eat too much la~! =D


There are definitely advantages to having 'vendors' - a yummy lunch @ the Shodoku restaurant at Raffles City. It's like Marche, but a Japanese version - with the rustic furnishings and many many stalls of Japanese cuisine. Quite like the atmosphere..



Food wise, i will reserve judgement - sashimi is all right only though the presentation is nice; pizza is nice - love the unagi; and the yakitori is good!!! hahaha....
