Just went to watch the CATS Musical on Saturday! It's really good - they sing, they dance, they do acrobatics! Just about everything.. Incredibly talented. No wonder it's a "World class musical" - not just any actor can play these roles...

The dances are very well cheoreographed, and the dancers are very professional. The dance is almost perfect! =D And at the same time they are dancing around, they can still sing - pitch perfect! Really hats off to them..

It's been a crazily hectic 2 weeks in preparation for Christmas and the event that my forum frens and i all put together for a children's home... Now it's finally over, and there's this surreal feeling - is it really over?

What Makes a Healthy Relationship?

Mutual respect. Does he or she get how cool you are and why? (Watch out if the answer to the first part is yes but only because you're acting like someone you're not!) Fwah!! so so fed-up with this particular vendor of mine. He is a relatively new (already 2 months at least le lor!) sales guy assigned to us - and heard he is the son of one of the firm partners or production head or dunno wat la!

usually he already blur blur, no initiative - then last month there was a big scale print which we decided to let them do. this print lasted over a stretch of 1 month. Revisions in price, revisions in qty etc..

One Thursday, i sent an artwork over telling them to print, and prepare for the brochures collation and all. Friday he told me that he is not feeling well, went back at 6pm+, fine.. His coordinator worked till 8pm+ trying to sort out the whole thing. Guess what... the artwork i sent on Thur - was totally not processed!!! Angry.... Then the following Monday, the coordinator found out that he did NOT purchase the bags for collation! and i muz deliver on Wed!!! So fed up that i sent a mail to him and his boss and the whole wide world telling him to do his work properly!

Then at the end of the whole project - he actually ask me for the prices. HELLO~ last i heard, I am YOUR client!!

Dare to tell me it's very confusing - wah lao eh!

If easy, why for i need you!

Told him to check through the emails and records and get the complete list. Then he give me the pricing last week - i tot ok le wor.. Yesterday i was gonna bill my client - and realised that idiot OVERCHARGE me!!! Darn angry sia... Wasted my afternoon matching the bloody quotations.

Items previously quoted before, no change in specs - suddenly increase price! there are at least 5 datasheets that this happened. And about 3 items they charged even higher then the standard rate card that we have. GGrgggrrrrr....

*the okonomiyaki - uhm.. dun try - not nice de.. haha...*

Went to Pasta de Waraku some time when we were craving for Pasta. I chose a seafood pasta while dar took his usual bolognaise, and it was really nice.... till i found a clump of stuff on the bottom of a mussel.

OMG, i was totally horrified - cos the clump of black stringy stuff looks really gross with the pinkish creamy sauce.

The manager was horrified too, when i showed him the plate - and took the whole plate immediately to check it out. Well, it seems that it is seaweed, just that the chef did not check that the stuff is on the back of the shell. Wah.. scared me half to death lo.. @_@

He apologised really profusely, and very sincerely. A little paiseh, to be honest, but i guess at the same time, i am gratified that he really cares.

i didn't want a new plate of pasta cos i was really full, and we later received icecream.. =)

Whee!! a simple softie, but i think it really shows their sincerity! =D

What's more, we got a discount when we were paying the bill; and even got vouchers for our next visit!

As Mark puts it: the service recovery is really excellent!!

Catching up with the important people in my life, stood by me when i was at my most 'leong' period in life, never minded a light bulb when we went out.. =) Presenting - my gan ge ge and future sis-in-law - =D

Went for a vegetarian meal the other day at this cafe near Aljunied MRT - Yes Natural.
I love my avocado oat milkshake! I love avocado milkshake, and this version with oat is just as nice! Started drinking it a year ago, and have never looked back. Benefits of avocado are aplenty! haha.. just try google-ing it, and there is even a site dedicated to it..

Lijun ordered the Fu Rong Tofu to share, but it was too nice, we ate it all!! haha, didn't have time to take photos of it..

This is an all vege sushi roll - very nice and crunchy, with a little peanut paste, giving it additional fragrance & sweetness.. MUST try!

For our mains, Kor ordered the pineapple rice, while Lijun ordered the hot and sour noodle soup. For me, always sinful, haha.. i ordered the cheese baked spaghetti - the spaghetti is not overcooked, tasty, and the vegs are well done. A very pleasant surprise... =D

Went for dinner with my darling, to try the Romanian cuisine. it's at the KPT kopitiam behind the Alexander AIA office. The pasta was recommended by one of his colleagues, and we also tried the romanian food which is operated by the same pple.
This is the 'homemade pork sausages' - very nice!

Went again the other day, and i had the carbonara while dar tried this seafood spaghetti or something.. And Ta-Da~!!

we got a "fish"!! haha... Spied another customer who got the pasta wrapped up in the shape of a peacock! ^^

Shopping at Ikea

Went to Ikea the other day, originally intending to eat at the restaurant. But it was so packed that dar & i gave up..

Walked downstairs, and bumped into this group of people doing surveys for Ikea. Being the Mr Nice he is, Mark agreed to help, so i might as well too..

And here's the repayment for our time - A Hotdog set each! haha.. Well, at least that put me in the mood to shop a little further @ Ikea - and amazingly, i found this wall decoration in the color i want! Promply bought it!

Haven't been able to get around to blogging about my birthday for the longest time.. Or rather, get around to blogging at all, period.

So so, the next b'day celeb was with Kor & Lijun.

We went for dinner @ The Green Room. It's a really cool place. It serves vegetarian food, and it is situated in the middle of Bishan Park 1, within the cluster of restaurants there. It's like a mini mini Villa Bali over there. The atmosphere is great - no words for it! haha... Lucky i got my darling with me, otherwise, it'll be rather a waste of the romantic atmosphere.. ^^

Been wanting to do this for some time, but it's really ex (to me la, ok..), about $50+.. The place we went said that if we go back and just wanna 'fill in' those that dropped, it's half price @ $25. Hmmm....

I guess i chose one which was too thick, it is nice - but way too obvious to look natural - i mean, my own eyelashes are one third the length, and definitely not that thick wor... haiz...

Anyway, i love the look - really Jap doll looking.. Wish i look like that all the time man.. haha.. But a pity it is troublesome, in that i can't rub my eyes. I always tot i dun really rub my eyes, it should be fine. BUT... it's a natural instinct when u're just waking up and still half asleep.. =P It's difficult when ur face is wet, and u wanna blink water out of your eyes... -_-" It's impossible, and i mean really impossible.. haha...

Took it all off after a week - really surrender..

Sorry that i mia-ed for a whole week.. I have so much more to post about my birthday last week... But first - I WANT TO COMPLAIN AH!!!

The last week has been hectic. Hectic like crazy - all because one selfish, 'dunno-stupid-or-wat' gal whomi think doesn't use her brain, has zero commitment and did i mention selfish?!?

I am on course the past Monday to Wednesday. And she knows. She bloody well knows i am not going to be around on these 3 whole freaking days. Any decent human being with half a brain would know that if there is a time to gain any brownie points, this would be THE time... Simply just by being there, by picking up a little of the slack. And no - i am not asking her to take over my projects - cos she's supposedly treated as 'just an admin'.

She's an admin exec, with pay higher than normal just admin personnel.

She claims she's not taken as part of the team. But can such a person be part of any team?!

Monday: 6.45am - msg us all to say that she is on MC. (For the record, i hate people disturbing me before i have to wake up. My bloddy alarm was set at 6.50am. Is tat not early enough!!!!)

Tuesday: 7am+ - msg to say she is MC for 'these two days' - what 2 days, which 2 days??? mon & tue or tue & wed?!?!
Still have the cheek to msg me and ask me to 'do me a favor' and tell her if the boss is angry at her non-appearance. Herein lies my 'stupid-or-wat' part - Stupid ar!! Obviously you never turn up for work for 2 days with just a phone sms - who WON'T BE angry!!!
SHe is supposedly on MC because on Friday when going home from work, she had a 'small accident' and has swollen this and that and heaven knows wat la... - For heaven's sake, want to lie, please lie with some brains. Don't think the whole world is as stupid as you. If you really had an accident, will you wait until Tue, 2nd time you are applying for MC to say!?!?!
Still want to call me and ask how are things. WAHHHH... I was so mad - really felt like just shouting at her and tell her to wake up her stupid idea. But no - i simply have no time to deal with her nonsense. I have work to do, even if she thinks she doesn't think she has.

Wednesday: no appearance and no message - so apparently her 'these two days' meant tue & wed.... -_-"

Thur and Fri: she is on unpaid leave for her part time studies exams. Pre-booked leave.

Just like that, she disappeared for a whole week, and all admin and billing was untouched.

And you know what, the auditor is in-house this week. Thank you very much missy. You just "HELPED" us so much. Just by not being there. Just because you are so selfish to only think of yourself and want to MIA so that you can study 'in peace' at home for your exam.

Because of you, i go in to office at 8.30am to do work before my course start at 9.30am. Come back to my desk to rush some work during lunch. Continue to 7pm+ after my course ends at 5pm for the day... You are SUCH a great help, such a GREAT TEAMmate.

"No time to study"; "No time to do all this work"; "she think i superwoman ar"; "she do herself la!" - So much complains, but please take a good hard look at how much time you are spending at work.

1 month, 2 weekends out of 7 days a week. We work 24 days max a month.

When someone is not there half the time; comes in at 9am to MSN, starts work at 10am and goes home at 6pm sharp on the days that she is there - how can the work be done???

Oh, not forgetting her MSN windows are always active de lor.. always talking to somebody de lor... If not, Facebook-ing in the middle of the afternoon.......

Next was a good yummy dinner @ Two Chefs in Commonwealth with the whole family

The food is good, and the price is reasonable - imagine, 7 of us went to eat, and the bill only came up to just over $100... =P

Went to my Sis's place to play Puerto Rico after dinner. We are all rather into this game at the moment. It is a really engaging game.. You not only need to have a good strategy, you need to be able to adjust accordingly to other players' actions.. =D

The birthday 'week' started off with The Cake - The Mille Crepes.

Classic Cakes in Clementi Arcade, started selling a wonderful cake called Mille Crepes last year - a stack of 20 crepes placed on top of one another, with a vanilla pastry cream holding them together and a caramelised topping.

But for those who want something more exciting, baker Charles Quek has come up
with three variations.
The Chocolate Mille Crepes has thin, floaty flakes of dark chocolate between the crepes. It is ethereal, light and to die for.

Order the Apple Mille Crepes if you don’t like your desserts too rich. The tart
apples add crunch - very refreshing.

Of course, there is a durian version, with pungent, creamy durian filling in
between the pancakes. Like the original, they all cut beautifully.

I finally got my blades after a year of wishing!! hehe... Here is my new baby.. The ADRENO BLACK SERIES!! It's a freestyle skate that normally would have cost over $300 bucks - but we got lucky and spotted it on sale! hehe..

Got it at Inline Culture - the Katong outlet. Oh, the service there is sincere, the sales people have knowledge of their products, they are willing to teach and the range is decent, quite sizeable..

So much so much better than the first place we went to at 3rd floor of Queensway - some kuching kurak shop called Skaters World. The stttooooopid sales fella there sucks big time. Jean asked them, what is suitable for a beginner - and he was like "this, this and this.." SILENCE. "and this, and this." FULL STOP. That's it leh - that's all he said. Wahhhhh.. so pissed. Walked out of the shop immediately!

Anyway, the important stuff now.... ^^

Yummy yummy dinner again ytd night! Very happy too, to be out w ma pretty lady here.. hee.. Went to this place near Kembangan mrt - Hmmm.. at Jalan Masjid or something like that, can't quite remember. Anyway they are really famous for their mian xian aka mee sua aka 面线。

It's like a zhi char place, and Mark & I really like the steamed fish there. It's fresh, and fresh and fresh... haha. nothing else needs to be said.. But no photos of it, cos we were too engrossed in our meal by then, and only thought of eating it.. haha... Oh, and another interesting thing is that you have to go to the stall to order (just like a zhi char) and you see the the prices written on cards, placed on the fish. So you know how much you are paying for what fish. Very straightforward, very good.

Another dish that dar likes, the fried tofu with chicken floss.. very nice!!! We order this everytime we go.. haha..

Cam-whoring while the guys are gossiping away.. Oh yesh, guys do gossip! hehehe...

Okie! time to post some more happy stuff... Hah..

So so, i read this book recently - It's called "Why Men Can Only Do One Thing at a Time, and Women Never Stop Talking" by Allan & Barbara Pease.

This excerpt is from one of the starting pages of the book, and it's so so true!!

Throughout the whole book, i was going like - "OMG!! that's so true!!" or "Yes yes! that's freakily same!" hahahaha.....

Like this one, it basically says:

Women can detect emotions through tone of voice, volume and pitch. We are able to detect emotional changes, and tend to react in arguments with men and boys with "Don't use that tone of voice with me!"

And apparently, the guys totally don't know what we mean!.. Because they can't.

This was one situation that had a huge potential to cause problems in future, cos Mark has this tendency to blurt out "What talking you!" in this seeeriously irritating tone when i'm asking/ telling/ explaining things and i am not clear/ confusing him.. Which i can understand, cos i'm not a person with the most organized of thoughts - sometimes i confuse meself~ haa.. But i just couldn't take that Tone he uses.. After both of us read this, i think we understand each other a little better... And more motivated to work together towards a better future.. =)

Hmm, back to the book - there are parts which are purely humor and funnies, but most are insightful.. Well, all in all, it's a good read, and it'll give you an interesting view into the opposite sex's workings... So so, it's worth the time... =D

Dinner w my ladies to bitch about work and wind down over dinner & tea... Tried this new tea @ TCC - some 'Oriental' or 'Dragon Mystique' (sssooomething like that la~ forgot liao) - name really caught my attention. But a bit disappointing cos though the fragrance is really nice, there is not much taste to the tea though i left it to steep for quite some time..

Well, the saving grace as always, is the service and atmosphere @ TCC.. hehe....

Dinner @ Sakuraya
Went for a drive with Mark one day after work, and walked randomly into this Japanese restaurant near the Pasir Panjang area. I know this chain has one outlet @ Parkway too, so it's good to check it out.

The sashimi is really interesting - you just walk to this big showcase/ fridge, and choose what you want and amount to pay is labelled clearly! Very interesting..

Luv the california maki here! They are very very generous with the roe. The ingredients are fresh, and each can be tasted clearly! very filling... =)

But my all time fav is the teriyaki grilled cod! Ahhhh... Grilled cod (Japanese style) is like my favourite now!! It's sweet, yet with the smoky taste of grill - and the cod is so so smooth that it seems to melt in the mouth....... Yumz.....

Definitely wanna go back there again!!

There is this PG mall thingy, a Taiwan site that sells bags - many people have sprees on it - but the problem is - you have to go to the PG mall site and fight thru all that mandarin/ chinese to figure out what exactly are they talking about.....

I mean, i can read mandarin and all - but i dun have the time!! most importantly, i dun have the inclination to figure it all out!

So why exactly is this site good?

The spree owner has listed some Hot Picks that he/she thinks is best, and even better - calculated already what is the exact charge gonna be! Now i don't need to headache over what the price is, the exchange rate etc! hahahaha....

Porridge buffet @ Suntec with the ladies... Supposedly healthier - but..... with everyone taking dishes, we still ended up taking so much food! haha.. still eat too much la~! =D

There are definitely advantages to having 'vendors' - a yummy lunch @ the Shodoku restaurant at Raffles City. It's like Marche, but a Japanese version - with the rustic furnishings and many many stalls of Japanese cuisine. Quite like the atmosphere..

Food wise, i will reserve judgement - sashimi is all right only though the presentation is nice; pizza is nice - love the unagi; and the yakitori is good!!! hahaha....

A touching story... An important lesson...

A Heartrending story which might relate to anyone of us...

When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, I've got something to tell you. She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes.

Suddenly I didn't know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her know what I was thinking. I want a divorce. I raised the topic calmly. She didn't seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, why? I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a man!

That night, we didn't talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer; I had lost my heart to a lovely girl called Dew. I didn’t love her anymore. I just pitied her!

With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house, 30% shares of my company and the car. She glanced at it and then tore it into pieces. The woman who had spent ten years of her life with me had become a stranger. I felt sorry for her wasted time, resources and energy but I could not take back what I had said for I loved Dew so dearly.

Finally she cried loudly in front of me, which was what I had expected to see. To me her cry was actually a kind of release. The idea of divorce which had obsessed me for several weeks seemed to be firmer and clearer now.

The next day, I came back home very late and found her writing something at the table. I didn’t have supper but went straight to sleep and fell asleep very fast because I was tired after an eventful day with Dew. When I woke up, she was still there at the table writing. I just did not care so I turned over and was asleep again.

In the morning she presented her divorce conditions: she didn't want anything from me, but needed a month's notice before the divorce. She requested that in that one month we both struggle to live as normal a life as possible. Her reasons were simple: our son had his exams in a months time and she didn’t want to disrupt him with our broken marriage.

This was agreeable to me. But she had something more, she asked me to recall how I had carried her into out bridal room on our wedding day. She requested that everyday for the month's duration I carry her out of our bedroom to the front door ever morning. I thought she was going crazy.

Just to make our last days together bearable I accepted her odd request.

I told Dew about my wife s divorce conditions. She laughed loudly and thought it was absurd. No matter what tricks she applies, she has to face the divorce, she said scornfully. My wife and I hadn't had any body contact since my divorce intention was explicitly expressed. So when I carried her out on the first day, we both appeared clumsy. Our son clapped behind us, daddy is holding mummy in his arms. His words brought me a sense of pain. From the bedroom to the sitting room, then to the door, I walked over ten meters with her in my arms. She closed her eyes and said softly; don't tell our son about the divorce. I nodded, feeling somewhat upset.

I put her down outside the door.

She went to wait for the bus to work. I drove alone to the office.

On the second day, both of us acted much more easily. She leaned on my chest.. I could smell the fragrance of her blouse. I realized that I hadn’t looked at this woman carefully for a long time. I realized she was not young any more. There were fine wrinkles on her face, her hair was graying! Our marriage had taken its toll on her. For a minute I wondered what I had done to her.

On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I felt a sense of intimacy returning. This was the woman who had given ten years of her life to me. On the fifth and sixth day, I realized that our sense of intimacy was growing again. I didn't tell Dew about this. It became easier to carry her as the month slipped by. Perhaps the everyday workout made me stronger.

She was choosing what to wear one morning. She tried on quite a few dresses but could not find a suitable one. Then she sighed, all my dresses have grown bigger. I suddenly realized that she had grown so thin, that was the reason why I could carry her more easily. Suddenly it hit me; she had buried so much pain and bitterness in her heart.

Subconsciously I reached out and touched her head. Our son came in at the moment and said, Dad, it's time to carry mum out. To him, seeing his father carrying his mother out had become an essential part of his life. My wife gestured to our son to come closer and hugged him tightly. I turned my face away because I was afraid I might change my mind at this last minute. I then held her in my arms, walking from the bedroom, through the sitting room, to the hallway. Her hand surrounded my neck softly and naturally. I held her body tightly; it was just like our wedding day.

But her much lighter weight made me sad. On the last day, when I held her in my arms I could hardly move a step. Our son had gone to school. I held her tightly and said, I hadn't noticed that our life lacked intimacy. I drove to office... jumped out of the car swiftly without locking the door. I was afraid any delay would make me change my mind... I walked upstairs. Dew opened the door and I said to her, Sorry, Dew, I do not want the divorce anymore.

She looked at me, astonished. Then touched my forehead. Do you have a fever? She said. I moved her hand off my head. Sorry, Dew, I said, I won't divorce. My marriage life was boring probably because she and I didn't value the details of our lives, not because we didn't love each other any more. Now I realize that since I carried her into my home on our wedding day I am supposed to hold her until death does us apart.

Dew seemed to suddenly wake up. She gave me a loud slap and then slammed the door and burst into tears. I walked downstairs and drove away. At the floral shop on the way, I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my wife. The salesgirl asked me what to write on the card. I smiled and wrote: “I'll carry you out every morning until death do us apart”

The small details of our lives are what really matter in a relationship. It is not the mansion, the car, the property, the bank balance that matters. These create an environment conducive for happiness but cannot give happiness in themselves. So find time to be your spouse's friend and do those little things for each other that build intimacy. Do have a real happy marriage!

If you don't share this, nothing will happen to you, but if you do, you just might save a marriage.

First time i ate @ the French Restaurant @ Sturdee Road.. Not bad - can be cheap or expensive depending on individual's choices i think.. We took the set meal @ only $16.80, and it comes w a soup of the day, main, and dessert... This is the creme caramel -nice isn't it.. The syrup is so smooth & golden that you can even see the reflection!! hehe...
Good choice if you are able to go early - bout 6-ish or so - no crowds.. ^^

I went for an interview in the previous weeks... And it was the first time i lost interest in the company even BEFORE the interview. The company was originally one of those i had the highest amount of interest in. Darn sad.

My interview time was at 5pm, and i was told to come at 4.45pm to fill up forms and all.. So i went, and filled up the forms, and waited - just like any good interviewee, like any other interview... So the gal from HR told me that the person b4 took a really long time, so i had to wait.. Ok, so i waited in a room, all by myself... So why am i irritated?

I waited for a good 45 mins before anyone appeared.

I had so, so, SO much time that i doodled all these...

My frens all tried to placate me, saying that maybe they were trying to test my ability to be patient. Huh! Honestly - all it tells me is that they are not sincere about the whole thing.. That they have much more candidates than they know what to do with. And because they have such a big pool of 'choices', they can afford to treat them shabbily, cos, after all - SOMEONE will take the job!!!

Seriously, if a company doesn't even recognise the time of a person is precious when they are just interviewing - you start to wonder - what about when they become its employees?!?!?!

OMG, i can't believe it. I was looking through the jobcentral site earlier, and i saw this position claiming "Sales (Leadership) Management Position" and i took a deeper look at it. When i went to the Dirad site (www.dirad.com.sg), it was a direct link to another company - (www.appcogroup.com)

That is very very weird, and i googled the company "Dirad Pte Ltd". And this is wat came out...

I was so nearly taken in by how professionally they made everything sound, and the high pay quoted; when in fact you become a door to door salesman literally, with a damn low basic. What a scam!!

As i read through the comments on the post, it struck me that the address "9B Mosque Street" is very very familar... Sense of forbidding.. Damn!! They have yet more names.. I had sent a resume to Asia Pacific Promotion Group which is same!!! Good heavens... I am so not gonna go for any interviews!!!

When people are good to you, treat you as a friend - it's because they want to. They don't owe you anything.

Don't abuse that. Don't assume that I can accept everything that you do and say.

Don't come running round only when you need a listening ear to your complaints, a sympathetic shoulder for your tears. Don't come running here for advice when you have defences, "i already"s and "buts" for every solution we come up with.

I care for you as my friend, but i am sick and tired of all this.
